This fun, informative and interactive workshop will examine the complexities of sex work, and the role of mutual aid as anti-trafficking, harm reduction, criminal justice involvement prevention, recidivism & violence prevention. Participants will engage in discussions around the intersection of medical and legal language, and the broader impacts on the sex worker community. Through this session, we will foster a deeper understanding of the realities of sex work while exploring how community led initiatives are first line prevention.

Jae is a Public Health & Criminal Justice Researcher and Advocate with over 10 years of experience in research, advocacy, and public speaking. In 2018, she founded Liaison Consulting Services, LLC, a research and consulting company focused on hidden and criminalized populations. Her work now centers on art as edutainment and community healing, following years of consulting, published research, and policy work.
Jenna Torres
Jenna Torres is a Community Advocate, Published Author, Spoken Word Artist, Entrepreneur, and above all a proud mother to four beautiful children.
She believes people have agency to make the best decisions possible in order to survive. She defends them and works with communities to build realistic solutions to real life problems like violence, poverty, and discrimination by using literary art to highlight key issues in her community and Jenna’s unique lived experiences.
Her passion is in reproductive justice, comprehensive sexual education, social justice, human rights and most notably sex worker advocacy. Her vision is to create spaces where education and healing are centered for BIPOC individuals while gathering resources to support the collective wellness and co-create art that reflect the community and their lived realities including dreams of the future.
